Born in Munich in 1962, married, two children.
Dr. Susanne Zänker graduated as a doctor in veterinary medicine at the University of Liège, Belgium in 1989. From 1987 until 1990 she completed several externships; at the Veterinary Hospital, Seehof, Diessen/Ammersee, Germany and in the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Liège. From 1989 to 1990 she participated in the organisation and realisation of the rabies eradication campaign in Belgium.
In 1990 she joined Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica GmbH in Germany as Product Manager, Biologicals, in the Marketing Department.
She is also author of several scientific publications and speaker at several international symposia and congresses on Animal Health.
She has been the Technical Co-ordinator at FEDESA (the European Federation of Animal Health) since April 1993, Technical Manager since 1997, and as from 1.1.2000 Technical & International Affairs Director.
