Minutes

Introduction

Mr Declan O’Brien, Chairman of the European Technology Platform for Global Animal Health (ETPGAH), summarised the achievements since the launch of the Platform one year ago. A Vision Document was drafted and published, Experts were identified and called together in three specific groups and their proposals served as the basis on which to draft the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) that is being discussed at this meeting before finalisation and delivery to the European Commission.

Presentation of the draft 5 SRA

The speakers presented each chapter of the draft SRA, which was thoroughly explained and discussed. Amendments, essentially to the recommendations of the SRA, were proposed and adopted. Following this meeting, additional comments from Stakeholders should be sent to the Secretariat within 15 days. A draft 6 will be prepared and circulated to the ETPGAH Steering Council by 10 March for adoption by written procedure.

The final version of the SRA will be delivered to the European Commission by the end of March.

Stakeholders will further receive a table listing all the diseases referred to in the SRA with the criteria for prioritisation, and will be asked to score the list for a final prioritisation of the Platforms most urgent considerations.
