Dr Peter Holdsworth, Chief Executive Officer of the Canberra-based Animal Health Alliance ( Australia ) Ltd and member of the IFAH Board of Directors, received the 2007 World Association for Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP) Bayer Healthcare Award for Excellence in Services to Veterinary Parasitology. The Award was presented to Dr Holdsworth at the WAAVP Conference in Ghent ( Belgium ) in August for his outstanding contributions to veterinary parasitology.

On receiving the 2007 WAAVP Bayer HealthCare Award for Excellence in Services to Veterinary Parasitology, Dr Holdsworth said “I feel honoured and privileged to have been recognised by WAAVP with the presentation of this award, particularly as the development of efficacy guidelines has relied on the voluntary efforts of contributors’ expertise and knowledge for many years.”

“I am also mindful of other dedicated colleagues who have contributed to international harmonisation initiatives being undertaken for veterinary parasitology in relation to regulatory guidelines and standards, which has made it possible for me to receive this award”.

Dr Holdsworth, in his acceptance speech, gave the WAAVP delegates an insight into international harmonisation initiatives being undertaken for veterinary parasitology in relation to regulatory guidelines and standards.

Dr Holdsworth was also elected to the WAAVP Executive Committee for the period of 2007 to 2017.
