Dr. Peter Holdsworth receives the 2007 WAAVP award for excellence.
The WAAVP award acknowledges the outstanding contributions of the Australian Member of the IFAH Board Directors to parasitology.

Peter Holdsworth, Chief Executive Officer of the Canberra-based Animal Health
Alliance (

Ltd and member of the IFAH Board of Directors, received the 2007 World
Association for Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP) Bayer Healthcare
Award for Excellence in Services to Veterinary Parasitology. The Award was
presented to Dr Holdsworth at the WAAVP Conference in
Ghent
(
Belgium
)
in August for his outstanding contributions to veterinary parasitology.
On
receiving the 2007 WAAVP Bayer HealthCare Award for Excellence in Services to
Veterinary Parasitology, Dr Holdsworth said “I feel honoured and
privileged to have been recognised by WAAVP with the presentation of this
award, particularly as the development of efficacy guidelines has relied on the
voluntary efforts of contributors’ expertise and knowledge for many years.”
“I
am also mindful of other dedicated colleagues who have contributed to
international harmonisation initiatives being undertaken for veterinary
parasitology in relation to regulatory guidelines and standards, which has made
it possible for me to receive this award”.
Dr Holdsworth, in his acceptance speech,
gave the WAAVP delegates an insight into international harmonisation
initiatives being undertaken for veterinary parasitology in relation to
regulatory guidelines and standards.
Dr Holdsworth was also elected to the WAAVP
Executive Committee for the period of 2007 to 2017.
